Top 5 Worst Terms in the World of the Cloud

  1. Cloud in a Box - wtf? this doesn’t even exist!
  2. Private Cloud - is that the same thing as cloud in a box?
  3. Cloud-Oriented Architecture - how can your architecture be oriented toward the cloud? either it is in the cloud or it isn’t, right?
  4. (Fill in the blank) as a Service - Software-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, it all just sounds like PR gobbledygook to me!
  5. Cloud - “cloud” is a pretty vague term, but I like it — it’s the first marketing term that admits to being cloudy ;-) #honestmarketing (Classic! via @wrgreiner)
